CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – After Friday's games were canceled due to frigid temperatures in the area, the Frost Classic hosted by Chattanooga resumed on Saturday with two games for Illinois State, the first against a familiar foe in fellow Missouri Valley Conference member Indiana State and the second against the host Mocs. The Redbirds would fall to the Sycamores in game one by a score of 2-0, before suffering a 4-2 defeat to Chattanooga in the second game of the day at Frost Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Chattanooga took an early lead with a run in the first inning and tacked on another in the second inning to take a 2-0 advantage. The Mocs would then add two more in the third inning on a two-run home run by Acelynn Sellers to push the advantage to 4-0. The Redbirds would cut the lead in half in the top of the fifth inning, when Bryant led off the inning with a solo home run (the first by a Redbird player this season) to make the score 4-1 and ISU added a run later in the inning when Masching scored on a wild pitch to make the score 4-2. However, that's where the score would stay as the hosts picked up the matinee win over the Redbirds.Â
