Redbirds Win Third Tournament of Season

VIERA, Fla. – For the third time in six events the Redbirds have taken home the team championship, winning the Columbia Classic by four strokes over the field over the weekend.

ISU's three-round tournament score of 868 is the sixth-best tournament score in program history, as this season's squad has four of the six lowest scores in program history, with each of the top 10 coming since the 2020-21 season. Jinyoung Yun was the individual runner-up, her fourth top-five performance of the season, and the second in two tournaments during the spring portion of the schedule.

ISU, who was ranked 79th in the most recent national poll, had its team score 868 out-distance Princeton – ranked 63rd – by four strokes. Dartmouth (889), Penn (894), and Seton Hall (896) each finished in the top five with Emory (902), Boston (904), Columbia (906), Marshall (910), Youngstown State (911), Quinnipiac (920), and Duquesne (960) rounded out the dozen schools in the tournament.

Yun's runner-up finish was with a three-round score of 213 (71-69-73). The 213 is the 10th-best tournament score in program history, as in her two seasons with ISU, Yun has five of the 10 lowest tournament scores in program history. Her 69 from the second round is tied for the 10th-lowest round in program history.

Morgan Jones had a steady tournament with rounds of 72, 74, and 71 for her 217, and her score is tied for the 24th-best tournament score in program history, and she finished seventh overall. Freshman Jessica Jolly finished a spot behind in eighth place with a 218 (70-78-70), as her tournament score is the eighth-best by a freshman in school history, and her two rounds of 70 are tied for the fifth-best score by a first-year collegian at ISU.

Lory Paradis tied for 16th with a tournament score of 224 (75-77-72), while Elise Fennell tied for 20th with a 225 (76-74-75).

The Redbirds go back on the course on Friday, February 21 when the team travels to Rio Verde, Arizona, to compete in the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational in the three-day event.
