SAINT CHARLES, Mo. – The Illinois State baseball gave up a trio of runs and were unable to comeback, falling by a final of 4-2 in the series finale at Lindenwood on Sunday at Lou Brock Sports Complex.
The Redbirds (2-7) saw both Daniel Pacella and Nolan Barry tally a pair of hits at the plate as Kyle Gibson, Graham Mastros, Eric Machej, and Luke Stulga notched a hit for the Birds.
Junior Thomas Harper threw 4.0 innings of relief to keep the score within reach as Ryan Weaver got the start, going 4.0 innings with four hits allowed and one strikeout.
Lindenwood moves to 6-6 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions got on the board first in the bottom of the 2nd off a Redbird error to take the early 1-0 lead.
Lindenwood would add some insurance in the 4th with an RBI single and sac fly to push the score to 3-0.
The Redbirds would get their scoring started in the top of the 5th with a sac fly by Shai Robinson before Pacella knocked an RBI double to make it a 3-2 scoreline.
The Lions got a run in the bottom of the 8th to make it 4-2.
