HOW IT HAPPENED
After two scoreless innings to start the game, the Redbirds scored the first run of the game when Ella Boyer scored from third on a sacrifice fly by Delainey Bryant to make it 1-0 in favor of ISU. The Redbirds held onto the one-run lead until the bottom of the fifth, when the Bobcats scored seven runs on six hits that included a three-run double and two-run homer. ISU would get one run back when Tatum Wolford scored from third on a wild pitch in the top of the sixth inning, but that would be as close as the Redbirds would get.Â
