NORMAL, Ill. – On a windy Friday evening, Illinois State started week two of MVC play as the Redbirds fell to Murray State by a final of 19-8 at Duffy Bass Field.
Illinois State (10-14 overall, 2-2 MVC) totaled 15 hits, including two home runs, and stranded 11 runners.
Murray State (15-6 overall, 2-2 MVC) recorded 19 hits, including three home runs.

- Illinois State scored first, off a three-run home run by Pacella, in the bottom of the 3rd inning
- The Racers responded with 10 runs in the top of the 4th, including a grand slam and three-run home run
- Murray State added a run in the 5th with an RBI single to make it 11-3
- The Redbirds got two runs back in the bottom of the 5th with a Racers wild pitch and RBI double from Luke Stulga to make it 11-5
- Murray State padded their lead with four runs in the 6th and four in the 7th
- Luke Stulga sent out a three-run home run in the 7th to score three Birds
