STILLWATER, Okla. – Illinois State baseball knocked off #25 Oklahoma State, 12-6, in front of over 5,200 fans on Friday at O'Brate Stadium.
Illinois State (3-8) saw Judah Morris led the bats with a 3-for-4 night at the plate with four RBIs.
Oklahoma State drops to 7-6 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Redbirds got on the board in the 1st inning after back-to-back walks to Kyle Gibson and Shai Robinson to make it 1-0 Birds.
ISU kept the foot on the pedal in the 2nd with a pair of runs with a RBI groundout by Daniel Pacella and an RBI single from Judah Morris as the score read 3-0.
The Cowboys would trim the margin to 3-2 in the 3rd with a two-RBI double.
The Birds quickly responded in the 4th with runs off a two-RBI double from Morris and an RBI single from Robinson.
OSU made it 6-4 after four innings with two runs in the bottom of the 4th.
A two-RBI double from Mastros and RBI single from Morris in the 5th pushed the Redbird advantage to 9-4.
After two scoreless innings, the Cowboys pushed across a couple runs in the 7th to make it a 9-6 ball game.
Pacella sent one deep into the Stillwater night to lead off the 8th to make it 10-6 before Nolan Barry knocked in the final two runs of the night in the 9th.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Illinois State's 1-2-3 hitters finished the night going a combined 7-for-13 with eight RBIs
- Matthew Donnison recorded a career high six punchouts over 2.2 innings pitched
- Thomas Harper got his first career save, going 2.2 innings with one hit allowed
