Redbirds Fall to Host Illini in Midweek Contest, 8-2

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Illinois State baseball finished with seven hits and two runs as the Redbirds fell to host Illinois Tuesday at Illinois Field, 8-2.

The loss moves Illinois State to 12-15 in 2025 while Illinois improves to 15-11 overall.

• Daniel Contreras: 2-for-4, 2 RBI
• Judah Morris: 1-for-3, 2B, R, 2 BB
• Noah Smith: 2 HBP

Scoring Breakdown:

• The Illini broke open the scoring with three runs in the 2nd off an RBI single and two-run double
• Illinois added five runs in the 7th inning to make it 8-0
• The Redbirds got on the board in the 8th with a two-run single from Daniel Contreras to trim the lead to 8-2.
