CARBONDALE, Ill. – Illinois State held the lead for majority of Sunday's series finale, but would fall late to the Salukis of Southern Illinois on Sunday by a final of 5-4.
Illinois State (20-21 overall, 10-8 MVC) posted six hits and five walks on the afternoon.
Southern Illinois improves to 30-13 overall, 12-6 MVC.
SCORING BREAKDOWN
Southern Illinois scored the game's first run with a solo home run in the bottom of the 1st.
Illinois State responded with the game's next four runs with three in the 2nd and one in the 4th, including a solo home run by Graham Mastros.
The Salukis rallied back to score two in the 7th and two in the 8th for a late 5-4 advantage.
