Chadwick, Pacella Lift Redbird Baseball to 6-3 Win

NORMAL, Ill. – Tyrelle Chadwick turned in one of Illinois State's best pitching performances of the season and Daniel Pacella had a big day at the plate as Illinois State earned a 6-3 win over visiting UIC Saturday at Duffy Bass Field.

Chadwick allowed two earned runs on five hits over 6.2 innings, walking one and fanning eight.

Pacella went 3-for-4 from the dish with a solo home run in the fourth inning that gave the Redbirds a lead, before later contributing a double in the 6th for Illinois State (23-25 overall, 12-11 MVC).

UIC drops to 17-30 overall, 13-10 MVC.

An RBI single to left center by the Flames gave UIC an early 1-0 lead.

Illinois State tied the score in the 2nd inning off a passed ball.

The Redbirds took the lead in the 4th after a solo home run to right field by Pacella.

The lead grew to 3-1 for the Birds in the 5th thanks to an RBI triple from Josh Outlaw.
