NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State baseball team will welcome Missouri Valley Conference foe, UIC, to Duffy Bass Field for a three-game series beginning Friday, in what will be Illinois State's final home weekend of the 2025 season.

ABOUT THE FLAMES (16-29, 12-9 MVC)
UIC is 16-29 this season, 12-9 in MVC play, and 7-22 on the road in 2025.
The Flames have won five of their last six MVC games, taking the series over Bradley and Valparaiso.
UIC outscored the Braves and Beacons by a combined margin of 36-14 over the last two conference weekends.
SERIES HISTORY
Illinois State leads in the all-time series, holding an 31-16 margin.
The two programs met in Chicago last May, as the Redbirds won two of three to take the series over the Flames. Illinois State secured the series finale victory at UIC, 16-3, from Les Miller Field in seven innings.
The Redbirds were led by Daniel Pacella, who finished 4-for-5 at the plate with six RBIs.
CEMENTING THEIR REDBIRD LEGACY
Illinois State junior Daniel Pacella and senior Joe Husak continue to lead the Redbirds at the plate and on the mound.
Pacella has recorded 52 RBIs this season, moving his career total to 169 RBIs at Illinois State. The junior sits alone in sole possession of second all-time in ISU history.
Pacella also holds sole possession of second all-time in career HRs with 43.
Meanwhile, on the mound, Husak moved his career save total as a Redbird to 13 after closing the door against Iowa on April 29.
Husak is now second all-time for a Redbird in career saves.
ILLINOIS STATE TO HOST MVC TOURNAMENT
The 2025 Missouri Valley Conference Championships will take place from Duffy Bass Field in Normal, Illinois.
The eight-team tournament opens on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, and is scheduled to run through Saturday, May 24, 2025.
This is the first time Illinois State will host the MVC Championships since 2019.
