NORMAL, Ill. – There were weather delays all over the Bloomington-Normal area on Saturday, and the inclement weather affected the schedule on the first day of the Illinois State Redbird Duals hosted at the Gregory Street Courts.
Western Illinois, Saint Louis, Bradley and the Redbirds were all able to get in the first round of doubles, but were only able to finish the first round of singles and the second round had to be pushed back to Sunday.
In doubles action, the team of Silvia Pomarolli and Lana Caculovic picked up a 6-4 win over Valeriia Ivanovskaia and Anna Belogliadova from Bradley to start things off.
In singles action, Nicole Iosio defeated Francisca Gomez Weiss of Saint Louis in three sets 7-5, 2-6, 10-7, and Nuria Sanz picked up a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Madison Hill of Saint Louis. Emma Lindh was also a winner, as she bested Saint Louis' Aryn Walker by a final of 6-1, 6-4.
