Rittenhouse Named FCS ADA Postgraduate Scholarship Finalist

CLEVELAND – Illinois State senior quarterback Tommy Rittenhouse was one of 12 finalists selected for the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Postgraduate Scholarship and was among 57 student-athletes selected to the 28th Annual FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team.

The 12 finalists were selected for the 25th Annual FCS ADA $5,000 Postgraduate Scholarship, with two student-athletes set to receive postgraduate scholarships. A special Review Committee of FCS athletics directors were responsible for selecting the 2025 Academic All-Star Team and FCS ADA Postgraduate Scholarship finalists.

A two-time MVFC All-Academic Team selection, Rittenhouse led the Redbirds to the FCS National Championship game and cemented himself as one of the best quarterbacks in school history. The Geneva, Illinois, product graduated with a 3.68 cumulative GPA in entrepreneur small business management and recently completed his first semester in the Master's program. The two-year team captain started all 17 games during the regular season, completing 65 percent of his passes (334-of-516) for 3,568 yards with 40 touchdown passes. He also led the team with seven rushing touchdowns, with at least one in each of the last five games of the regular season. He set single-season records in completions (334), attempts (516), passing yards (3,568) and touchdowns (40) and finished his career ranked fourth in school history in passing yards (7,117) and touchdown passes (60).

Football players from all Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) institutions were eligible for the award. Each of the nominees were required to have a minimum grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate or graduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletics credentials. They must have reached their second year of athletics and academic standing at the nominated institution and have completed a minimum of one full academic year at the nominated institution. They also must have participated in 50 percent of the games played at their designated position.
