NORMAL, Ill. – A trio of Illinois State men's basketball student-athletes: Johnny Kinziger, Ty Pence, and Landon Wolf, have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District squad.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Kinziger, a junior from De Pere, Wisconsin, has the team's second-highest scoring average on the season, putting up 11.6 points per game, with a team-high 113 assists and 45 steals. He has scored in double-figures 24 times on the season, including in both of ISU's National Invitation Tournament victories.
Pence, a junior from St. Joseph, Illinois, is averaging 9.3 points per game, while pulling down 4.5 rebounds and giving out 55 assists. An efficient shooter, he has made 53.3 percent of his shots from the field, 34 percent from long range and just under 70 percent from the charity stripe. He set a career-high with 23 points in ISU's most recent 78-75 win over Wake Forest in the second round of the NIT.
Wolf, a native of Cedar Falls, Iowa, is averaging 7.7 points per game in his final college basketball season, while also pulling down 4.9 rebounds per game with 26 steals and 25 assists. He is making 39 percent of his long-range tries this season, and 50.5 percent of his attempts from the field.
The Redbirds, at 22-12 on the season, are traveling to Dayton, Ohio, to take on the Dayton Flyers in the Quarterfinal round of the 2026 National Invitation Tournament on Wednesday, March 25.
