OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The College Baseball Foundation has named its watch list for the Brooks Wallace Award for the 2026 season on Wednesday morning. Graduate shortstop Camden Karczewski was named to the 2026 watch list for the award.
The Brooks Wallace Award honors the nation's top shortstop and will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation later this year. The award honors the legacy of former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace passed away at the age of 27 after a battle with leukemia.
Karczewski was included in the nation's top 100 shortstops list, as the award honors student-athletes who achieve outstanding offensive numbers while also reflecting their defensive performances, per the College Baseball Foundation.
Karczewski joins former Redbirds Shai Robinson and Kevin Tokarski to be named to the watch list. Robinson was named to the watch list last April before his selection in the 10th round in the 2025 MLB Draft by the Minnesota Twins.
