NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Redshirt Sophomore Brayden Bakes has been named to Baseball America's Week 11 National Team of the Week.
Across the week, Bakes recorded a combined 10-for-18 performance with eight extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs and five doubles, which ranked as the second most at the NCAA Division I level for the week. Bakes led the Missouri Valley Conference with 10 RBIs across the week, including four on a run-rule walk-off grand slam versus Bradley on Friday night.
On Monday, April 27, Bakes received his third MVC Player of the Week award, marking the most of any Valley player this season. As of March 27, Bakes leads the MVC with a .380 and 30 extra-base hits in 2026.
Bakes receives his second Baseball America National Team of the Week selection after being nominated for the Week 6 selection earlier this season.
