Rivers Closes Career at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Illinois State's Macee Rivers closed her historic senior season with a 22nd-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday evening at Hayward Field.

Rivers competed in the first of three heats and finished eighth in her section with a time of 13.27, earning Honorable Mention All-America honors in her nationals debut.

The senior out of Belleville, Ill., qualified for nationals after placing ninth overall at the NCAA West First Rounds with a personal-best wind-legal time of 13.02, shattering the school record.  She also became the first women's hurdler in program history to break the 13-second barrier under all conditions when she ran 12.91 at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships.
