GALWAY, Ireland – Former Illinois State soccer standout Jade Rehberger has signed with Galway United FC, continuing her soccer career professionally in Ireland. The club's women's team joined the Women's League of Ireland in 2023, winning the inaugural All-Island Cup that season and successfully defending the title in 2024.
Rehberger wrapped up her Illinois State career following the 2025 season after making 73 appearances and 73 starts across four seasons with the Redbirds. A key contributor throughout her career, Rehberger earned All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team honors in 2025 after helping Illinois State put together one of the strongest defensive seasons in program history.
In 2025, Rehberger started all 22 matches for the Redbirds and played a career-high 1,929 minutes. She scored the first goal of her collegiate career against Drake on Oct. 23 and helped Illinois State record a school-record 13 shutouts during the season.
The 5-foot-7 defender from Fort Thomas, Kentucky, first made her mark as a freshman in 2022, starting all 17 matches and leading the Redbirds with 1,448 minutes. Her efforts earned her a spot on the MVC All-Freshman Team.
Rehberger continued to be a consistent presence in the Illinois State lineup throughout her career, starting 15 matches as a sophomore in 2023 and 19 matches as a junior in 2024. During the 2024 season, she recorded a career-best three assists while playing all 90 minutes in each of her 19 starts.
Along with her accomplishments on the field, Rehberger was recognized for her success in the classroom. She was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team in 2024 and 2025 and earned CSC Academic All-District honors in both seasons.
Rehberger becomes the latest former Redbird to continue her soccer career at the professional level, joining defender Kate Del Fava, who plays for the Utah Royals in the National Women's Soccer Leauge.
