Redbird Athletics Announces Major Investment From Cindy Moore

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State Athletics announced on Wednesday that Redbird women's athletics supporter Cindy Moore has made a major gift investment that will directly support and ensure the future success of the women's basketball, volleyball and softball programs.

"We are deeply grateful to Cindy for her generosity and long-standing commitment to Illinois State Athletics," Director of Athletics Dr. Jeri Beggs stated. "Her investment in our student-athletes reflects a belief in the power of athletics to shape leaders, strengthen communities, and create life-changing opportunities. This gift will have a lasting impact on our women's basketball, volleyball and softball programs, and the young women who represent Redbird Athletics with pride."

Moore's gift will directly aid the Redbird women's basketball program with team building opportunities and enhancements, as well as technology upgrades that will aid future success. Her support will also directly support the NIL efforts for women's basketball, volleyball and softball.

"I've been very fortunate in my life, and I believe in giving back in ways that make a difference," Moore said. "Supporting women's athletics is especially important to me. I want these young women to have every opportunity to compete and succeed on the court, on the field, and in life.  I'm proud to be a small part in helping that happen. "

A native of Fullerton, California, and a former softball student-athlete whose collegiate career was cut short due to injury, Moore has been a fixture at Redbird Athletics events for several years and is a current season ticket holder for women's basketball, volleyball and football at ISU. 

"We are so incredibly grateful for the generous and continued support of Cindy Moore," Illinois State volleyball head coach Allie Matters said. "She is a true supporter of women's athletics. I always enjoy my conversations with Cindy because she wants to understand the current landscape of college athletics, all while having a genuine care for the experience of our student-athletes. Cindy's generosity has allowed us to further elevate the experience we can offer and gain a competitive advantage amongst our conference foes and Universities across the country. Cindy embodies the Redbird spirit through and through and we are lucky to have her."

A local entrepreneur and real estate investor with CKInvestments, Moore has helped provide local housing options for people who are pet lovers. She recently retired as a national sales director after 37 years of service.

"We are incredibly grateful for Cindy's extraordinary investment in our program," Redbird women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie said. "This generosity will impact our student-athletes for years to come and help us continue building a championship culture. Cindy gets 'it' and has been so responsive and generous in her loyal support of our program. "Cindy has been a tremendous friend to Redbird Athletics and Redbird Softball," ISU softball head coach Tina Kramos added. "Having been a collegiate student-athlete, Cindy understands what it takes to be successful especially in today's environment. We cannot thank Cindy Enough for her kindness and generosity."
