NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State men's basketball team has announced that Jack Betz and Ethan Morton have had their titles elevated to assistant coaches.
Betz is entering his fifth season at Illinois State, and his first as an assistant coach. He had previously served as a graduate assistant for two years, Director of Basketball Operations in 2024-25, and Chief of Staff in 2025-26.
Morton enters his second season on staff with Illinois State and the first as an assistant coach after spending the 2025-26 season as the Director of Basketball Operations.
The Redbirds open the 2026-27 season with a pair of exhibitions, including the opener on October 18 at home against Northwestern, while the regular season opens on November 2 at Saint Mary's.
