NORMAL, Ill. – The 2026 is poised to be an exciting one for the Illinois State football team, coming off a historic run to the FCS Championship game a year ago. The Redbirds will open the campaign on Saturday against St. Francis, and ISU head coach Brock Spack will preview the upcoming matchup with Fighting Saints at Schooners on Thursday at 6 p.m. at The Brock Spack Show, presented by Robert Redding Menswear.
Coach Spack will chat with Redbird football play-by-play voice John Fitzgerald and longtime color analyst Ted Schmitz about what he learned about his team during Fall training camp, and he will preview the upcoming matchup with St. Francis. This week, they will be joined by preseason All-American running back Victor Dawson and new running backs coach KeyShawn Carpenter as special guests.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington and sits just off the corner of Grove Street and Clinton Boulevard. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities and streamed live on GoRedbirds.com and The Varsity Network. Portions of the show will also be broadcast live on the Illinois State Athletics Facebook page.
