Senior Year (2023-2024)

Appeared in 9 meets for the Redbirds to wrap up her collegiate career...All-MVC Honorable mention honors in the 200y IM and 400y IM at the MVC Championships...Went 2:02.69 for 5th in the 200y IM at the MVC Championship...Turned in a sixth place performance in the 400y IM at the Valley Championships, going a personal best 4:24.67, a mark that ranks 4th in program history...Opened the year with a 100y IM victory, going 1:00.86 vs Eastern Illinois Oct. 6...Personal best in the 50m Fly Oct. 14 at Ohio with a mark of 30.32...Won the 200y IM at UIC Oct. 21, going 2:09.50 for a win...Personal best in the 400y IM at the Purdue Invitational, turning in a time of 4:25.01...Earned her second 200y IM win of the season vs UNI Jan. 19-20 with a mark of 2:07.04...All-MVC Scholar-Athlete team honors.

Junior Year (2022-2023)

Appeared in eight meets for the Redbirds including the CSCAA National Invitational Championship...All-MVC Honorable Mention selection with a fifth-place mark in the 200 IM...Also earned MVC Scholar Athlete team honors...Set personal bests in the 200 Free (1:50.94), 200 IM (2:02.22) at the Valley Championships, a 100 IM (57.24) best at the CSCAA NIC , and a 100 Free (51.08) personal best at the Purdue Invitational...Swam the first leg of Illinois State's silver medal 400 Free Relay team that turned in a school record of 3:21.21 at the Valley Championships...Helped Illinois State earn a silver medal and school record as the first leg in the 800 Free Relay at the MVC championships. 

Sophomore Year (2021-22)

Competed in all eight meets for the Redbirds as a sophomore ... Opened the MVC Championships with a bronze medal in the 800-yard freestyle relay as the leadoff leg, earning All-MVC honors with a time of 7:25.12 ... Earned All-MVC First Team honors for the first time in her career, taking third in the 200-yard IM with a personal-best time of 2:02.92 ... Member of both of ISU's school record setting relay teams this year, swimming the second leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay that tied the school record at 1:33.77 to place fifth at the MVC Championships and swimming the leadoff leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay that swam a new school record of 3:24.52 at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship ... Posted 12 top-five finishes, including three first-place finishes during the 2021-22 campaign.

Freshman Year (2020-21)

Competed in all five meets for the Redbirds as a true freshman … Turned in seven top-three performances throughout the regular season … Made her collegiate debut against Valpo, winning the 100-yard freestyle (53.83) and 200-yard IM (2:09.58) … Won the 100-yard freestyle in 52.51 in a dual meet with UNI … Clocking in the winning time and personal best mark of 2:05.90 in the 200-yard IM at a tri-meet at SIU … Posted a pair of personal best times in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.66) and 200-yard IM (2:04.59) at the MVC Championships.

Background: Four-year member of the Magnolia High School swim team, while competing for the Magnolia Aquatic Club for seven years … Broke a pair of school records in the 200 IM and 100-yard breaststroke her freshman year, before replacing them again during her sophomore and junior years, respectively … Led her team to a second-place finish at the state meet her junior year, while turning in a pair of individual top-5 finishes … Member of National Honors Society, Hispanic Honors Society and an academic all-state honoree for her success in the classroom.

Personal: Daughter of Jeff Gonder and Kim Dion … Born on November 7 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada … Her father, Jeff, ran track for the University of Calgary … Currently undecided on a major.
