Saint Rita HS: Two-year starter for head coach Todd Kuska ... recorded 31 tackles, a sack and three TFLs in shortened spring season as a senior ... elected team leader and Week 2 player of the game ... helped lead the team to a Catholic League championship and a No. 6 ranking in the state ... tallied 25 tackles and four pass breakups during junior season ... helped team to a league title and a state runner-up finish ... played quarterback as a sophomore on the varsity squad.

Personal: Born July 9, 2003, in Oak Lawn, Illinois ... son of John and Jennie Schmitt ... one of four siblings ... his father, John, played collegiate football at Eastern Illinois ... member of the National Honor Society and was on the honor roll all eight semesters during prep career.
