New helmets! The REDbird Helmet project will help keep Illinois State the freshest team in the Missouri Valley Conference. Fans who donate $2,500 will receive an authentic red helmet with the new dark logo debuting October 1 vs. Southern Illinois. Donate to this project online or call 309-438-3803. 

Illinois State has only worn red helmets on two other occasions throughout program history, once prior to 1968 and again from 1970-1979 according to the Helmet Project.
