Chase Brundage enters his first season with the Redbirds for the 2027 season, serving as an assistant coach. 

Brundage joins the Redbird staff after previously spending seven seasons with the Des Moines Area Community College program. He served as the pitching/catching coach and recruiting coordinator over the last three years. 

Under his guidance, pitchers earned numerous awards and honors, including 22 ICCAC Pitcher of the Week honors, 14 All-Region honors, four National Pitcher of the Week honors, one Region Pitcher of the Year, and one All-American honor. Furthermore, he developed a catching group that collected the highest caught-stealing percentage in the ICCAC at .139 in 2024 and .113 in 2025.

During his time at DMACC, Brundage helped recruit and develop a pitching staff that led the Bears to Region 11 and North Plains District tournament titles. Plus, the team advanced twice in the 2024 NJCAA Division II World Series. The Bears also reached the Region 11 tournament championship game for a second-straight year in 2025. 

Brundage earned his Associate of Arts degree in the spring of 2021 at DMACC before completing a Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree at Iowa State University in the spring of 2023. 

Brundage attended Urbandale High School in Urbandale, Iowa, where he was a part of two state-championship teams as a player in 2018 and 2019. Following graduation, he coached within the program for two summers as the head junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach.
