Clint Stroud

Clint Stroud enters his second season as Illinois State’s director of baseball operations after previously serving as a student assistant coach.

A former member of the Illinois State baseball team, Stroud served as a student assistant coach in 2015. He served in the same capacity in 2014, although in an unofficial role, after suffering a career-ending back injury. Stroud pitched just one inning in 2014 – a scoreless frame at Arkansas State – before transitioning into a student assistant role, working with pitchers and coaching first base for the Redbirds.

Stroud came to Illinois State after two standout years at Heartland Community College, where he helped the team to a pair of NJCAA World Series appearances. Stroud left Heartland with the single-season saves record (12), while posting a 0.39 ERA. He previously helped his high school team to a pair of state championships during his prep career.

Stroud earned his bachelor’s degree in health education in 2015, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sport management.
