2023-24 (Illinois State)


Played in 32 games with 25 starts during the year, averaging 23.8 minutes per game. Averaged 8.6 points per game over the season, and scored in double-figures 14 times, and reached 20+ points twice. Scored a career-high 27 points against Evansville on February 18 where he made 6-of-10 shots from long range. His six made three-pointers against Evansville is a new career-best, and he made at least two three-pointers 13 times on the year. Averaged 14 points per game over his final eight games of the season, and 15.3 over his last six. Pulled down 78 rebounds during the season, including a career-best seven in the season-opener against Lourdes, and six on the road at Saint Louis on November 11. He dished out 52 assists on the year against just 27 turnovers, and dished out five assists at Valparaiso on March 3 for the season-high. Made 39 percent of his field goals during the year (90-of-231), 46-of-137 (33.6%) from long range, and 84.2 percent (48-of-57) from the charity stripe. Had four games in which he grabbed a pair of steals.

2022-23 (Illinois State)


Played in 31 games during the season with 25 starts. Averaged 9.4 points per game with 70 rebounds and 67 assists on the year. Made 36.5 percent of his shots from the field (95-of-260), 37.7 percent from long range (49-of-130) and 94.5 percent (52-of-55) from the charity stripe. His free throw percentage is the highest in school history among student-athletes with at least 50 free throw attempts, while sitting with the third-highest free throw percentage in the country in 2022-23 with the same qualifiers, while marking the 25th-best in a season since 1992-93. Scored in double-figures 13 times, including in each of his first two games. Twice had a three-game double-figure scoring streak in MVC play. Dished out three or more assists 10 times during the season, including a career-high six in the season finale against Northern Iowa on March 2.  He averaged 31.8 minutes per game on the season - most on the team.

2021-22 (Virginia)


Saw action in 19 games for the Cavaliers, who had a 21-14 record and advanced to the third round of the postseason NIT. He scored 19 points off the bench, while adding seven assists and 10 rebounds. He made 8-of-16 shots from the field, and 3-of-8 from long range on the season. He scored seven points against Fairleigh Dickinson on December 18 and had three points and an assist against Lehigh on November 26. Five times during the season he played at least 10 minutes, including 13 at Duke on February 7 and 11 against Georgia Tech on February 12.

2020-21 (Virginia)


As a walk-on freshman, Poindexter played in three games, making his Virginia debut against Towson on November 25.

HIGH SCHOOL


As a prep player at St. Anne's-Belfield School he averaged 13 points, four rebounds, and five assists per game during his senior season in 2019-20 and was named All-Prep League First Team. He averaged 10 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game as a junior, after playing three seasons of varsity basketball at Louisa County High School. While at Louisa Country HS he earned MVP honors, and was named All-Central Virginia, First Team All-Jefferson District, First Team All-Conference, and All-Area Fredericksburg.
