2015

Concluded his senior campaign competing in 6 events including the NCAA Midwest Regional 10K…Askins picked up two personal-best performances…one being a personal-best 8K at the Bradley Classic with a time of 25:45…another was a personal-best 10K time of 34:54.5. placed 38th at the ISU Invite.

2014

Finished his junior year competing in 5 events…opened the season with a personal-best performance at the Wisconsin Opener with a time 6k of 19:09…clocked a 26:07 at the Country Financial Illinois State Invitational 8k…Earned a 8K time of 31:00 at the Roy Griak Invitational.. At the 8K Bradley Classic Aidan clocked a time of 27:14… and finishing the season with a time of 27:30 at the Illini Open.

2013

Competed in seven events as a sophomore ... opened up the season with a seventh-place finish at the Hawkeye Invitational, clocking a 4K time of 12:49.64 … notched a 5K time of 26:16.18 at the Country Financial Illinois State Invite … clocked an 8K time of 27:33.7 at the competitive Roy Griak Invitational … raced to a personal-best 8K time of 26:06 at the Bradley Classic … finished 54th at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships with an 8K time of 26:32 … captured a personal-best 10K time of 35:46 at the Midwest Regional to close out the season. 

2012

Competed in six events as a true freshman...Notched a season-best 26:39 in the 8K to finish 22nd at the Bradley Open...Concluded the season with an 8K time of 26:57 at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships to finish in 60th.

PRIOR TO ISU

Wheaton North High School: Four-year letterwinner in track and cross country ... three-time all-conference runner ... three-time state qualifier ... ran a 15:18.00 at the 2011 Illinois High School Athletic Association Class AAA State Cross Country Championships in the three-mile race ... holds a personal-best three-mile time of 15:04.00 ... holds personal-best times of 1:56.3, 4:15.98 and 9:28.7 in the 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, respectively ... named to the academic all-conference team.

Personal: Born 7/17/1994 ... son of Peter and Nancy Askin ... siblings are Kilty and Finn ... uncle, David Askin, is a four-time marathon winner ... plans to major in exercise science.
