Top ISU runner…first team All-Conference…placed first place at the Bradley Classic with an 8K time of 24:21…earned third place at the Country Financial Illinois State Invitational with a clocked 8K time of 24:08…captured a time of 25:17 at the competitive Roy Griak Invitational…earned third place at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships with a 8K time of 24:11…clocked a 10K time of 30:27 at the NCAA Midwest Regional where Rutherford placed 13th overall. 

2013

Top finisher for the Redbirds in all five of his races this season … captured the Illinois State 8K record with a career-best time of 23:50.13, placing 20th at Pre-Nationals … named to the All-Conference team with a second-place 8K time of 24:02.6 at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships … notched All-Regional honors with a 10K time of 30:54.2, finishing 20th at the Midwest Regional, helping the Redbirds to a 15th-place regional ranking … finished 16th at the esteemed Roy Griak Invitational with an 8K time of 24:45.8, earning Athlete of the Week honors for his performance … raced neck-and-neck to a first-place finish at the ISU Invite with a winning 8K time of 24:41.96.

2012

Earned All-Conference honors...Top finisher for the Redbirds in every competition this season...Competed in five events on the season, including the Midwest Regional...Finished in the top-20 in four of his events, including a second-place finish at the Illinois Intercollegiate with a career-best 8K time of 24:25...Notched an eighth-place finish at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships with an 8K time of 24:49 to earn All-Valley honors...Concluded the season with a 10K time of 32:37 at the Midwest Regional to finish in 88th.

2011

Finished third at the Northern Illinois Open with a time of 27:03.05 in the 8K event ... ran a season-best 24:56 8K at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships, finishing 12th ... finished third at the Bradley Classic with an 8K time of 25:57.0 ... ran a 25:37.1 at the 2011 State Farm MVC Championships, finishing 13th ... named Valley Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships Sept. 16.
