Zach Bodway is in his second season as part of the Redbird Football coaching staff and serves as the offensive quality control coach for the Redbirds.

Prior to coming to Illinois State, Bodway spent three seasons with the Southwest Baptist Bearcats (2024-25), where he spent time coaching linebackers while being a coordinator on special teams and also spent time coaching the team's running backs. Under his leadership, the Bearcats had two 1,000 yard rushing seasons and a first and second team All-GLVC nod at the position.
 
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Bodway graduated with his undergrad degree from Southeast Missouri State where he played linebacker and coached as a student assistant prior to SBU. Bodway received his master's degree in higher education from SBU in December of 2023.
