Biography

2024: NFF Hampshire Honor Society ... served as the team’s primary long and short snapper … not credited with a bad snap all year … key member of the special teams unit that allowed Ian Wagner to rank third in the MVFC in field goal percentage … also a key reason the Redbirds did not have a punt blocked all season … also credited with two tackles on special teams coverage on the year.

At Western Michigan: Did not see game action during the shortened 2020 season ... redshirted in 2021 season and did not see game action in 2022 or 2023.

Kaneland HS: Earned three letters at Kaneland High School ... three-time academic all-conference honoree ... earned honorable mention all-conference accolades in 2019 ... totaled a team-high 76 tackles as a senior to go along with 7.0 tackles for lost yardage and an interception ... chosen as the team’s defensive MVP following final campaign ... went the final three years of career with a perfect long snap percentage. 

Personal: Born May 26, 2002 ... son of Jennifer and Julio Calabrese ... has a brother, Luke, and sister, Delaney ... brother is a senior on the baseball team at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, having played in 74 career games and totaling a .316 batting average ... aunt, Jill Fazio, was a four-year letterwinner (1993-94-95-96) in volleyball at Illinois Wesleyan, earned the squad’s most valuable player award and a place on the AVCA All-Midwest Region team in 1996 and was a two-time all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honoree who ranks sixth in program history in kills (1,403), ninth in points (1,661.0) and 11th in digs (1,152) ... cousin, Todd Hanley, graduated from Western Michigan in 1997 and earned letters as a member of the football program in 1995 and 1996 ... great uncle, Mike Grace, pitched for five years (1995-96-97-98-99) in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, amassing a 16-16 record and 4.96 earned-run average while striking out 156 in 275.2 innings of work.
