Biography
2018-19
Named to the MVC All-Freshman Team after averaging 8.7 points per game during his first year with the program. Scored in double-figures 14 times during the season, including a pair of 20-point games to sandwich the MVC regular season. Scored 10 points in the season opener against Belmont, making all four of his field goal tries. Scored in double-figures in three consecutive games starting with 13 points against UIS on Nov. 29, 13 at TCU on Dec. 3, and 14 at home against Morehead State on Dec. 7. He scored a then-career-high 22 points to open MVC play on Dec. 31, while adding 11 points at Southern Illinois five days later. Scored 18 points at Indiana State on Jan. 11 while scoring 17 at Bradley on Jan. 22. Added 16 points both on Feb. 1 at Valparaiso and Feb. 12 at UNI. He dished out 44 assists on the season, good for 1.4 per game, while adding 21 steals. He played in 31 games during the year, starting the final 24 games.
HIGH SCHOOL
Was named First Team All-State by the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association. Was named to the Fayetteville Observer Boys Basketball 2018-19 Second Team. In 25 games as a senior at Trinity Christian, Horne averaged 12.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. He scored in double-figures 17 times including in each of the last eight games of the season. He scored a season-high 24 points against Northwood Temple Academy on Jan. 22. He also pulled down double-digit rebounds twice during the year (recording a double-double in each), and dished out at least three assists 13 times. Horne helped lead Trinity Christian to the state semifinals of the NCISSA Tournament.
Horne was ranked as the No. 31 prospect in the state of North Carolina over the summer before his senior year. He was named to the Triangle 6 All-Conference team following his junior season at Cary High School where he averaged 18 points, four assists, and three rebounds per game. He was part of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) Eastern Regional champion and state runner-up squads in 2016-17. He was also named a John Wall All-Tournament team selection in 2016 and was a member of the Adidas Gauntlet Championship team in 2017.
