Sarah Lopesilvero enters her second season as the graduate student manager for the Redbird softball team after joining the staff in August 2017.
Lopesilvero comes to Illinois State from SIUE where she played softball for her senior year, earning Ohio Valley Conference second-team, all-newcomer first-team and all-tournament team honors as an infielder. During her senior year, she appeared in all 54 games for the Cougars, slugging a team-best .551 while batting .338 as the starting shortstop.
Prior to SIUE, Lopesilvero spent one season at Louisville where she played in 39 games, with 34 starts between first and third base, helping the Cardinals to the NCAA Regional Tournament. Lopesilvero began her collegiate career at Lake Land College where she was a two-time NCFA All-American, two-time Region 24 All-Tournament selection, 2015 NJCAA All-American, two-time Region 24 Marucci Elite Hitter, 2014 GRAC All-Conference team selection, and two-time NFCA All-Midwest first team selection.
A native of Simpsonville, Kentucky, Lopsilvero earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from SIUE and is pursuing a master’s in sport psychology at Illinois State.
