Senior (2024): Earned the Laurie Mabry Award at the Illinois State Student-Athlete banquet...Heart of Service Endowed Scholarship recipient which was established by Eric and Maria Boerngen which is awarded to the Redbird Softball student-athlete who most exemplifies a “Heart of Service”...Hit her first-career home run against Valpo (Apr. 14) which helped the Redbirds to the conference comeback sweep...Had her first multi-hit game of the season against Virginia Tech going 2-for-3...had a season-high 3 RBI against St.Thomas (Mar. 1)...Posted a .929 FLD% with 12 putouts in the outfield......Ended her career with 28 hits, in 100 career-games played.
Junior (2023): Played in two games for the ‘Birds and started one…NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete…Had one putout for a 1.000 fielding percentage…Missed the rest of the season due to injury.
Sophomore (2022): Saw action in 31 contests, mainly as a pinch runner, while making six starts at shortstop…First hit of the season was against Texas-El Paso (Feb. 18) as she went 1-for-3…Had another hit against Valparaiso (May 1) that drove in a pair of runs and scored one herself…Scored a run in nine different contests this season…Drew a walk against Florida Atlantic (March 5)…Ended the season with a perfect fielding percentage on 19 chances.
Freshman (2021): Started and played in all but one game for the Redbirds in the shortstop position as a true freshman … Went a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen bases, while leading the team with eight sac bunts … Notched first career hit in a 2-for-4 performance in the season opener at North Florida (Feb. 11) … Turned in a career game in a win over Coastal Carolina (March 7), going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles … Drew her first career walk against UT Martin (Feb. 25), finishing the year with nine total … Scored 15 runs and took 25 total bases … Launched first career triple in a win over Bradley (April 22) … Finished her freshman campaign with nine RBI, which included a 3-RBI performance against the Braves.
Bishop McNamara HS: Two-year member of Bishop McNamara High School's softball team, while playing a season for the school's basketball team … Helped her softball team to a pair of regional championships … Aided in her team's efforts to finish fourth at state last season, after securing sectional and super sectional championships … Was an area leader in home runs and RBIs her junior year, leading to earning all-area recognition, as well as third-team all-state and all-conference honors.
Personal: Daughter of Richard and Kelly Bylak and Angella Marsh … Born on August 13 in Oak Lawn, Illinois … Has three older siblings (Ashley, Amber and Kailey) and two younger siblings (Ty and Mallory) … Plans to major in accountancy while attending ISU.
