High School: Marissa is a four-year varsity, softball athlete and a two-year volleyball, athlete at Oswego Hs. In 2021, Moffett led Oswego HS in runs scored, doubles, and stolen bases and earned Southwest Prairie All-Conference honors, Kendall County All-Area honors. She was nominated as team Offensive Player of the Year. In 2022, she led the team in triples and stolen bases, while earning All-Area honorable mention and team Defense Player of the Year. In 2023, she helped lead her team to most wins in school history. Moffett is also a four-year member of Oswego's Honor Roll.

Travel Team: Marissa played for the Bartlett Silver Hawks coached by Lauren McNulty

Personal: She is the daughter of Michelle and Troy Moffett and has one sibling, Amelia. Moffett has seven relatives who have attended ISU, including her cousin, Tony, who plays club hockey for the Redbirds. Her mother, Michelle, played softball for the College of DuPage, and her cousin Larry, played professional softball for the Decatur PRIDE. Moffett chose Illinois State because of her love for the campus, the coaches, and the education programs, as well as the comfort of being close to family and friends. She plans to major in Special Education.
