Prior to Illinois State: Calhoun is a dual-sport athlete at Indian Trail high school and Academy, where she is a four-year member, and two-year captain of the varsity softball team, and a four-year member of the varsity golf team. Her career BA is .466, with a .522 on-base percentage, and she has collected over 100 hits. Calhoun earned First-Team All Conference, First-Team All District, and First-Team All County in her most recent softball season, as well as earning the team Offensive Player of the Year Award. In her senior season of golf, she has already earned First-Team All Conference and First-Team All County. As a freshman, Calhoun earned All-Conference Honorable mention for both softball and golf, as well as the Rising Hawk Award in softball. She was named First-Team All Conference as a sophomore, as well as First-Team All District, First-Team All County, and Honorable Mention All-State. Calhoun also earned her first Team Offensive Player of the Year award. Calhoun is the Valedictorian of her class with an unweighted class rank of No.1 and has earned High Honor Roll in all semesters at her high school.

Personal: She is the daughter of Megan and Chuck Calhoun, and has one sibling, Charlie Calhoun. Her mother, Megan, played volleyball at Indiana State and her uncle, Pat, swam at Auburn University and was a part of the 2000 U.S. Olympic Team. She chose Illinois State because of the coaching staff and how the university has a warm community feeling. She plans to major in Accounting & Information Systems with the goals to be an Accountant after earning a master's degree from Illinois State as well.
