High School: Freeland is a four-year varsity softball captain for Cambridge HS. She has a career batting average of .501, and .614 on-base percentage, with 18-career doubles, nine triples, six homeruns, 63 RBIs, and 35 stolen bases. In 2023, Freeland was First-Team All-State, First-Team All-Conference, First-Team All-District, MVP, and Capital South Conference Player of the Year. She helped Cambridge to both Regional and Conference Championships. In 2023, her travel softball team, the Beverly Bandits, was the Runner-Up at PGF National Championship. She is a four-year varsity basketball captain. Freeland has 803 points, 602 rebounds, and 123 steals. She earned Second-Team All-Conference in 2022 while leading her team to both Regional Champions and Conference Champions. Freeland is also a three-year varsity volleyball athlete with 221 kills and 372 digs, earning All-Conference honors. Academically, Freeland is a member of the National Honor Society and earned Scholar-Athlete Award, as well as Highest Honor Roll for a 4.0 GPA.
Travel Team: Freeland played 16U for the Wisconsin Bandits and 18U for the Beverly Bandits.
Personal: Daughter of Dean and Leslie Freeland and has one sister, Sierra, who played softball for Luther College. Her father, Dean, played nine years in the MLB for the Brewers, the San Francisco Giants, and the Houston Astros, and is now a coach of Cambridge HS softball, the Beverly Bandits, and the WI Bandits. Her mother, Leslie, is also a coach of Cambridge HS Softball, the WI Bandits, and the Rock River Stix Club. Freeland chose Illinois State because of her love for the softball program and coaching staff, as well as the home-like atmosphere of campus. She plans to major in Healthcare Leadership.
