Prior to Illinois State: Liebelt is a dual-sport athlete at Wausau West high school, as a three-year member and team captain of the varsity softball team, and a one-year member of the swim team. In her junior season, Liebelt held a .362 BA, with a .630 SLG%, and led her team in home runs and slugging. She was also named All-Conference Honorable Mention. During her sophomore season, Liebelt earned the Top Stick Award with a .426 BA, and led the team in stolen bases (13), RBIs (22) , doubles (5), triples (5), and home runs (4), which earned her a unanimous First-Team All Conference honor, and an All-District Honorable mention nod. Academically, Liebelt has earned the Academic Highest Honors in four semesters, Honors in two semesters, and Academic Letter in six semesters. She was nominated to the National Society of High School Scholars and was named a Class 101 National Super Junior.
Travel Team: Liebelt has played for WI 18U FirePro Nelson under Sammy and Charlie Nelson, JBA Clutch Fast Pitch under Jeremy Jirschele, and Pepe Gonzalez, and Wausau Fast Pitch under Phil Harder, Bill Peisig, and Travis Berndt.
Personal: She is the daughter of Todd and Holly Liebelt, and has one sister Hannah. Liebelt has two cousins who have gone on to play baseball in college, Jared Liebelt at Mississippi State and Nikola Vasic at MVC rival, Southern Illinois. Liebelt chose Illinois State because of the coaching staff, and the overall atmosphere of the university. She plans to major in Biology with aspirations to become and MD or DO and attend medical school.
