Sectional Champion in 2022 in the 3200m… Finished 15th at State in 2022… All-City in 1600m and 800m… Awarded All-State for cross country in 2021… awarded All-Regional, All-City, and All-Sectional for cross country in 2021.

Son of Tsehay Gebayehu Taye and Alemayehu Mekonen Fenta.... has five siblings, Shagaw Mekonen, Mulugeta Mekonen, Tiruwerk Mekonen, Zamanei Mekonen, Getachew Mekonen… Plans to major in Finance and work for a well-known business firm’s asset management team… received Academic honors for Social Science.
