Named Second Team All-MVC, and to the MVC All-Academic First Team ... Played in 35 games - starting each - while averaging 14.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game ... Was one of four players in the country to have shooting percentages of at least .435 from the field, .385 from long range, and .895 from the charity stripe ... Named to the MVC All-Freshman and All-Bench teams at the end of the season. Was the first freshman in at least five seasons to be named the MVC Player of the Week when he earned the honor on February 19. Twice named the MVC Freshman of the Week, on both January 29 and February 26. Averaged 8.7 points on the season, along with 2.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Scored in double-figures 13 times, while reaching 20+ points three times including a career-high 31 points against Nationally-ranked Indiana State on February 13. Over his last seven games he scored 120 points (17.1 per game), while making 39-of-78 (50 percent) of his shots from the field, 17-of-38 (44.7%) from long range, and 25-of-33 (75.8%) from the charity stripe over that span. His nine rebounds against Evansville in the MVC tournament tied the school freshman record for rebounds in an MVC Tournament game. Since 1938-39, there have been just 18 other freshman student-athletes that have scored at least 31 points on the road at an AP-ranked opponent, including Cade Cunningham, Michael Beasley, Trae Young, Kevin Durant, Kevin Knox, Dennis Smith Jr., R.J. Barrett, and Malaki Branham. He is one of just 22 freshman in the NCAA since 1980 with a field goal percentage of .460 or better, a three-point percentage of .390 or better, a free throw percentage of .855 or better while scoring at least 275 points and 40 three-point field goals, along with Steph Curry, Ben McLemore, Jared McCain, Robbie Hummel, Zeke Mayo, Francisco Garcia, and Kyle Kover. His 31-point game is tied for the second-most by a freshman in school history, and his shooting percentage in that game (10-of-12) is the sixth-highest by a freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL (De Pere HS)
Was named the Wisconsin co-Mr. Basketball after leading the De Pere Redbirds to an undefeated (30-0) state title in 2023. He scored 2,134 points over his high school career, the 30th-most in a career in the state of Wisconsin history and his De Pere squad went a combined 93-15 during his four seasons. Scored in double-figures in 103-of-108 career high school games. Named as the state's top senior point guard by WSN Senior Basketball Awards, he averaged 18.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in his final prep season. Over his career he made 258 three-point field goals on 578 attempts for a 44.6 career three-point field goal percentage and 87 percent (414-of-476) from the free throw stripe. He dished out 166 assists during his senior season, graduating with a career total as he also had 202 steals, including 61 as a senior. He earned First Team All-State honors for the third time in his career during his senior season. During his senior season he scored in double-figures in 29 of 30 games while scoring nine in the only game he didn't reach double-figures. His season-high scoring total came on December 13 at Bay Port with 31 points, as he scored 20 or more points 12 times. Three times he dished out double-digit assists in 2022-23 including a season-high 12 against Homestead on March 9. He flirted with a triple-double on February 14 at Green Bay Southwest with 24 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds. During his last season he made 90-of-96 free throws, a percentage of 93.8. As a junior, en route to his second First Team All-State honor, he averaged 21.0 points and 4.2 rebounds, converting on 52 percent of his shots from the field (190-of-366) and 74-of-160 (46.2%) from three-point range. He also made 133-of-155 free throws (85.8%). He dished out 108 assists on the year (3.9 per game) while adding 56 steals (2.0 per game) and 16 blocked shots. He scored in double-figures 27 times in 28 games, and like his senior season, his lone double-figure outlier came via a nine-point performance. He scored 20+ points 13 times with five games of 30 or more points, including a career-high 35 points twice during the year, the first time on December 21 against Kimberly, and the second on March 10 against Homestead. During his sophomore season he averaged 22.5 points and 4.3 rebounds, making 73-of-161 from long range (45.3%) and 88.4% (107-of-121) on his free throw attempts. He dished out 3.7 assists per game (97 total) with 51 steals (2.0 per game) as he was named First Team All-State for the first time in his career. He scored in double-figures in 25-of-26 games, with 17 games of 20+ points and four games of 30 or more. His season-high for scoring on the season came on February 5 with 34 points against Bay Port, while following that up a day later with 32 points against West De Pere. His freshman season saw him average 16.5 points and 4.2 rebounds, making 49-of-116 three-point field goals (42.2%) and 84-of-104 on his free tries (80.8%). He dished out 70 assists, an average of 2.9 per game, while adding 34 steals. He scored in double-figures 22 times with eight games of at least 20 or more points and a season-high of 31 against Kimberly on January 25.
