Junior (2022): Appeared in 50 games while making 49 starts, all in left field…2022 Team Captain…Finished second on the team in runs scored (27), triples (2), and walks (22)…Turned in seven multi-hit and five multi-RBI performances…Hit first career home run vs. Indiana State (April 2) to walk-off the Sycamores in the Redbirds’ first home game of the season…Went 2-for-4 in that game with a three-run home run (walk-off), two runs scored, and a stolen base…Closed out the series against the Sycamores (April 3) by going 1-for-3 with another home run, two RBI, and a run scored…Scored three runs, a career high, against Valparaiso (May 1) while going 2-for-3 with a walk…Reached base safely in eight consecutive contests from Feb. 26 to March 6…Perfect 2-for-2 on stolen bases…Had 48 putouts with one assist and one error for a .980 fielding percentage.

Sophomore (2021): Started all 41 games for the Redbirds in the outfield … Earned a spot on the All-MVC Second Team … Finished second on the team in batting average (.336), runs scored (22), doubles (5) and walks (23) … Turned in the third-most multi-hit games (8) and fourth-most multi-RBI games (4) … Reached base safely in 15-straight contests from March 5-21 … Tallied first career triple as a part of a 3-for-3 day against Dayton (March 12) … Drew a season-high three walks in the MVC tournament against SIU (May 14) … Turned in a season-high three RBIs in a win at Drake (April 3) … Led the team with three sac flies, while finishing second on the team with three sac bunts … Recorded a .920 fielding percentage with 45 putouts and one assist.

Freshman (2020): Made an appearance in all but one game for the Redbirds in the outfield as a true freshman, while starting in 21 contests … Finished seventh on the team, and first among freshmen, in batting average (.262) … Tied for fourth on the team in hits (16), registering her first career hit and RBI in a season-opening win at USF (Feb. 6) … Turned in five RBIs, six walks and a team-best three sac bunts … Tallied four multi-hit games – tied for the third-most on the team … Shortened season due to COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of events and championships by the NCAA.

Oswego East HS: Four-year softball player at Oswego East High School in Oswego, Illinois … Also played basketball for four years and volleyball for two years … Helped her team reach the regional championship game in back-to-back seasons … Finished her career with all-state honors and a pair of all-area distinctions … Named Female Athlete of the Year among her senior class …. Earned all-academic laurels her senior year … Collected Athlete of the Week distinction during her junior softball season, while collecting all-conference and all-area nods … Two-year team captain for her basketball team, earning Defensive Player of the Year her junior season.

Personal: Daughter of Bill and Kerri Chval … Born Oct. 18 in Chicago, Illinois … Has an older sister, Gianna, who is currently a student at ISU, and a younger sister, Hannah … Father, Bill, played baseball at Samford University and is a member of the Marist High School Hall of Fame … Chose ISU because of the campus, familiarity, supportive atmosphere and her sister attends the University.
