Riley Butler

Riley Butler joined the Redbirds in July of 2022 with first-year head coach Marisa Kresge. Butler spent the previous two years as the assistant coach at Saint Francis.

Prior to his time at Saint Francis, Butler was the assistant/keeper coach at Pittsburgh for three seasons after serving as an assistant coach for the Radford men's soccer team for four years. Butler has also worked for several clubs over the years including Pittsburgh Riverhounds (2018-2022), New River United (2014-2018), and Jacksonville FC (2010-2014).

Butler played soccer at Jacksonville University, winning the 2007 Atlantic Sun regular season title and 2008 Tournament title, and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2008 before graduating in 2009 with a degree in marketing and management. After his collegiate career, Butler played three seasons for Jacksonville United and helped the squad to a NPSL National Championship in 2010.
