CAREER RESULTS

Senior Year (2022-2023)

Appeared in eight meets for the Redbirds...Two personal bests at the MVC Championships, going 2:01.43 in the 200y Back and 26.35 in the 50y Fly...All-MVC performer for the first time in her college career, turning in a mark 2:02.56 for 7th and All-MVC Honorable mention in the 200y Back. 

Junior Year (2021-2022)

Competed in seven meets for Illinois State...Posted three season-bests and one personal best at the 2022 Valley Championships...Six season bests at the Purdue Invitational Nov. 18-20...Posted top-three finishes in the 100 Backstroke, 2nd, and 200 Backstroke in Illinois State's double dual with McKendree and Maryville Oct. 30.

Sophomore Year (2020-21)

Competed in all five meets for the Redbirds … 2020-21 MVC Scholar-Athlete Team selection … Turned in six top-five performances, including a pair of third-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.29) and 100-yard butterfly (1:01.34) in a season-opening dual meet win over Valpo … Posted season-best times in four different events at the MVC Championships – 50-yard backstroke (27.93), 100-yard backstroke (57.12), 200-yard backstroke (2:04.04) and 100-yard butterfly (57.37).

Freshman Year (2019-20)

Competed in seven meets for the Redbirds … Recorded 10 top-10 finishes during her first season … Turned in a season-best time of 28.85 in the 50-yard backstroke in a dual meet vs. Indiana State … Posted a trio of season-best times in the 100-yard backstroke (57.36), 200-yard backstroke (2:02.20) and 100-yard butterfly (57.08) at the 2020 MVC Championships.

Background: Three-year member of Saint Ignatius College Prep’s swim team … Earned the status of a state qualifier in all three of her seasons … Named a team captain her senior year.

Personal: Daughter of Michael and Rose Veliz … Born on December 12 in Chicago, Illinois … Currently undecided on a major at ISU.
