Aneta Miksovska is in her first season as the graduate assistant coach at Illinois State. The Stramberk, Czech Republic native, comes to Illinois State after spending a year on the coaching staff at Virginia Tech.
Prior to starting her coaching career, she starred on the court at Washington State. In her career, Miksovska was a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic First Team selection and served as team captain. She was also selected as one of Washington State's Senior Excellence in Academics Award winners as well as the universities' Steve Gleason Community Service and Leadership Award, given to those who have demonstrated strong citizenship skills and leadership qualities within their team and throughout the athletic department and community. She finished out her career earning the ITA Cissie Leary Award for the Northwest Region, which is given to the player who displays inspiring dedication and commitment to her team, has enhanced her team's performance and exemplified the spirit of college tennis.
Over her four seasons in Pullman, Miksovska won 98 singles matches, which ranks fourth in Washington State history, and tallied 90 career doubles victories. In 2019, Miksovska helped the Cougars finish the season ranked No. 36, securing an NCAA Tournament appearance in her final season. She finished the 2019 season with a record of 24-7 in singles play, a team best. In the final match of her career, Miksovka tallied a three-set win in the NCAA Tournament against Miami.
During her prep career, Miksovska spent three years playing on the International Tennis Federation circuit. In 2015, she reached the quarterfinals of the tournament in Trnava, Slovakia, and in 2014 she reached the finals of the under-18 national championship.
