Peter Netisingha enters his third season as an assistant volleyball coach at Illinois State in 2018. Netisingha joined the staff in 2016 after coaching stops at Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Illinois State posted its seventh-straight winning season in 2016 in Netisingha’s first season on staff, and followed up with another winning season in 2017.
Prior to his tenure at Illinois State, Netisingha served as a volunteer assistant at Nebraska for two seasons, helping the Huskers to back-to-back Elite Eight appearances in the NCAA Tournament, culminating with the team’s championship run in 2015. Among his responsibilities at Nebraska were on-court instruction, scouting, video analysis and strategic planning.
Before his time at Nebraska, Netisingha spent a year as a volunteer assistant at Ohio, where he helped the Bobcats to 2013 Mid-American Conference regular-season and tournament titles, and an NCAA Tournament berth.
Netisingha spent three seasons as a volunteer coach at Wisconsin, from 2009-11, where he got his start in collegiate coaching.
Also active in the club ranks, Netisingha has coached four teams in three different states. His most recent position was as head coach of Volleyball Club Nebraska’s 15 Elite team, which earned a fifth-place finish at the AAU National Tournament.
A native of Hinsdale, Illinois, Netisingha earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Wisconsin in 2012. He started his collegiate career at St. Ambrose, where he was a member of the men’s volleyball team.
