Tiffane' Jackson enters her third season with the Redbirds as a volunteer assistant coach in 2021.
Jackson has played an instrumental role with the Redbirds, helping Illinois State win a trio of Valley titles with back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Tournament. In November of 2020, Jackson was named a recipient of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Diversity Award. Jackson was one of 26 total sponsored recipients, earning hers from the collective efforts of the Missouri Valley Conference head volleyball coaches.
Jackson arrived to Illinois State after a five-year stint as a head coach at Allen University. In six years combined at Allen, Jackson guided the program through its transition from an independent conference to a NAIA Division I Conference. Throughout her stint at the helm, she developed student-athletes on and off the court, guiding four players to the national ranks and multiple All-Academic honors.
Prior to joining the staff at Allen, Jackson served as a club coach with Orangeburg Volleyball Club where she coached and trained various age groups. Jackson planned practices, created game strategies and helped mentor multiple athletes who continued their career at surrounding colleges.
Jackson also served as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater South Carolina State University, where she had a successful four-year career as a member of the SC State Bulldogs from 2008-2012. In addition to helping guide her team to the 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference volleyball title, she currently sits eighth all-time in block assists and 10th all-time in total blocks in the Bulldogs’ record book. As a student-athlete, Jackson was a member of the Health Professions Society.
The Montgomery, Alabama, native received her bachelor’s degree in biology from SC State in December 2013 and she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
