Cortney (Ales) Brunner returned to Illinois State in August 2021 working with the volleyball team.

Cortney was a previous graduate of the athletic training cohort of 2019. She also received a minor focused in nutrition at her time at ISU. Cortney went on to receive her Master’s of Kinesiology in Education at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.  

During her years at SIU, she worked with their football and volleyball teams. Cortney has also worked at Carle orthopedics and sport medicine for their therapy department and fee for service department. She was a summer intern for Alabama Crimson Tide working with their football team.

Cortney currently is involved with Illinois Athletic Training Association and is a member of National Athletic Training Association.
