After working as a graduate assistant at Illinois State, Micaela Cutts assumed the role of Assistant Director of Events and Facilities in July of 2025 and was promoted to Director of Events and Facilities in December of 2025.
In that role, Cutts is the primary event management contact for football, men's basketball, and women's tennis, as well as conference and IHSA championships hosted at Illinois State University. She also manages game day staff and the athletics events and facilities team, which includes one full-time staff member and two graduate assistants. As the Assistant Director of Events and Facilities, Cutts was the primary contact for facility scheduling, the primary event manager for football, men's basketball, and gymnastics, and the intern coordinator for the events and facilities department.Â
As a Game Operations Graduate Assistant with Illinois State Athletics, Cutts was the primary event manager for women's soccer, women's basketball, softball, volleyball, and baseball. She was also responsible for student event staff, game day equipment inventory, and assisting with all championships hosted at Illinois State. Prior to Illinois State, Cutts interned with the USA Softball National Office event management department and the Neal Center YMCA membership engagement team.
Originally from Greenup, Illinois, Cutts earned her bachelor's degree from Marietta College in 2023 and her master's degree from Illinois State University in 2025. Cutts lives in Bloomington, Illinois with her husband, Brennyn.
