Rick Geitz is in his 19th season as the Illinois State football game analysis coordinator.  In that role, Geitz oversees the videotaping of all practices and games, including the assignment of videographers and preparing shooting schedules for each practice. He is also responsible for editing and processing video, while providing the day-to-day oversight of the football video network computer system. 

Prior to joining the Illinois State staff, Geitz worked three years as the master control operator at KPTH-TV in Sioux City, Neb. Before his stint at KPTH, Geitz worked five years in intercollegiate athletics. From 2000-02, Geitz served as the football video coordinator at Boise State University, after working two years at Drake University with the same title. Before getting involved with video, Geitz’s football career began at the coaching level. For two seasons, he served as the special teams coordinator at Drake University, before working four years at Simpson College. At Simpson, he mentored the wide receivers, tight ends and offensive line. 

He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and the Collegiate Sports Video Association (CSVA), where he serves as the FCS representative for the organization. After the 2012 season, he was named the FCS Video Coordinator of the year by the CSVA. Geitz earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1991, from Wartburg College. He and his wife, Stefanie, reside in McLean, Ill.
