Theresa Scott enters her first year as an assistant coach for the Illinois State Track & Field program. She will be assisting with the sprints and hurdles event groups.Â
Prior to joining the Redbird staff, Scott spent the last five seasons as an assistant coach at Southeast Missouri State, where she assisted with sprints, hurdles, and relays. Under her guidance, student-athletes earned individual conference championships in both the men's and women's programs, broke four women's indoor and outdoor school records, secured All-OVC honors, and qualified for both the U20 Championships and the NCAA Outdoor West Regional.
In addition to coaching, Scott played a critical role with various facets involved with the program, including assisting with recruiting efforts, team operations, travel coordination, event scheduling, and creating weight-training programs for student-athletes.Â
Before Southeast Missouri State, Scott spent three years at Lindsey Wilson College as an assistant coach after beginning her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Washburn University in 2018, where she obtained her Master of Business Administration.
Scott was a four-year student-athlete in track & field at Tiffin University, where she completed her bachelor's degree in sports marketing with a minor in management, graduating in April 2016.Â
