Dr. Wyatt Olson joined the Illinois State Athletic Department as the Assistant Athletic Director for NIL and General Manager in September of 2026. Prior to coming to Normal, Olson served as the Assistant AD for Internal Operations at Louisiana Tech before being promoted to Associate AD for Internal Operations in April of 2024.

At Louisiana Tech, Olson led facilities and events management and served as the liaison for the physical plant, concessions, and event staffing. He also assisted in capital projects under Competitive Excellence within the athletic department.

Previously, Olson was at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, starting in January of 2021. He served as the Assistant AD for Athletic Compliance. While serving as the compliance administrator, Olson also worked closely on strategic planning and leadership efforts, was the game administrator for all 12 of their sport programs, and led all game operations of home sporting events. Olson also served as the advisor of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Before Sul Ross State, Olson worked at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, in August 2019 as a graduate assistant for marketing and game administration. He was then promoted to marketing/engagement, serving as the primary marketing contact for the Jacket Century Club, overseeing fan engagement strategies and fronting event management responsibilities.

Olson was a student-athlete during his undergrad years, playing baseball at both Indian Hills Community College in Iowa and Niagara University in New York.

The Janesville, Wisconsin native, Olson, has an associate’s degree in sport management from Indian Hills Community College, a bachelor's degree in business management from Niagara University, and a master's degree in sport and wellness leadership from Howard Payne University. Olson completed his doctoral degree in leadership (Ed.D.) at Hardin-Simmons University in 2026.
